On production server "Srv" - Run ADPREP /forestprep and /domain prep from CD Windows 2003 to apply all Windows 2003 Schema Extensions. 2. Configure RAS and VPN for remote connection of new server if needed. 3. export shares from registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Shares Temporary Server: 1. Install new Temporary server "Server1" 2. Connect server "Server1" to "Ilanit" network through VPN client (PPTP) or LAN 3. Configure TCP/IP DNS settings to 192.168.1.10 4. Install "Server1" as additional Domain Controller 5. Configure "Server1" as additional Global Catalog 6. Install "Server1" as additional DNS server 7. Wait to Synchronization (1-2 hours) 8. Install Support tools 9. Check Replication status (DC, DNS, Replications) 10. Migrate Printers to file if needed (Microsoft Print Migrator utility) 11. Export DHCP setting if needed (Article ID: 325473) 12. Disconnect "Server1" from Ilanit. 13. Restart and connect to Domain. Offline 1. "Server1" - Sizing FSMO Roles (ntdsutil) 2. transfer license 3. Install Windows 2003 (Standard Edition) 4. Change server name to "Srv" (same name as a production server SBS2000) 5. Set same volumes as a production server 6. make him a member server to the server 1(temp) and transfer roles and license 7. make him a dns server 127.0.0.1 8. clean again the server with adsi edit(clean the temp server) 9. Install backup software 10. Install Exchange – Disaster recovery mode (Standard Edition) Warning! Restore Exchange data from the backup and check consistency. 12. Run setup from SBS2003 CD and Upgrade/Install SBS components 13. Restore other backup data from tape 14.
